The Governors of The Wells Free School are seeking a highly motivated and efficient Clerk. The successful candidate must have excellent organisation and administrative skills, be able to work with minimal supervision, and be able to communicate effectively. Access to the internet is essential and candidates must have good computer skills.

Duties will include preparing and circulating agendas, taking minutes, handling correspondence, keeping records and dealing with sensitive and confidential issues. Attendance will be required at Full Governing Body and Committee Meetings, all of which are usually on a Monday at 6.00pm. Advising the governing body on local and national developments that will impact on their work is another aspect of the role. The clerk will be paid for all time spent preparing for and following up meetings.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

The Wells Free School opened in September 2013 with just years R, 1 and 2. We have expanded each year and, in September 2016, we moved into our brand-new school building. We now have 210 pupils divided into 7 classes.

With a strong focus on child-led learning and a commitment to outdoor learning experiences, the school aims to promote excellence and wellbeing, ensuring that our pupils have a real understanding of their community, both locally and globally. The school was rated good by OFSTED in June 2019.
