One last chance! You snooze you lose!

We currently have an opportunity for a full time experienced and versatile, qualified teacher with leadership skills. We will also consider a 0.6 or 0.8 position FTE for the right candidate. There will be the possibility of a TLR for either numeracy (permanent position) or KS2 literacy (maternity cover) depending on the candidate and their skills.

Here at Ashford Oaks, we’re looking for teachers who are every bit as unique as our school. Whether you’re experienced or newly qualified, you’ll share our commitment to ‘love the children as your own.’ That’s not the only special quality you’ll demonstrate.

We asked the children what they want to see in their new teachers. This is what they said:

“You should be kind and friendly, interesting, cheerful and funny. Reliable, a good role model, encouraging, honest and hardworking. Caring, enthusiastic, an excellent listener – and you must enjoy working as a teacher!”

Like your new colleagues, you will have what it takes to set high expectations for your pupils, create a safe and stimulating environment, and inspire them to achieve. You’ll encourage each child to take responsibility for their own work, to love learning and embrace intellectual curiosity.

Many of our pupils come from a challenging area.  But their attainment is rising year on year. That’s because, as OFSTED notes, our “Headteacher, senior leaders, staff and governors are united” in our approach to improvement. They also observed that our pupils “get on well together, have positive attitudes to their learning and are proud of their school.”

Our Headteacher Gerry D’cruz says, “We believe children’s self-esteem is the most important consideration in a child’s education. We help them believe in themselves and from this comes high expectations and achievement. We are a school that looks forward and not back.”

Joining us, you will benefit from a strong collaborative environment. We work in year group teams with 60 children and up to 6 adults. Thanks to our excellent career development programme, you’re sure to thrive.

You will need to be available to teach and be interviewed at our school on 31st October 2016.

You can find out more about us at www.ashfordoaks.kent.sch.uk. But we’d love to say hello. So if you’d like more information or to arrange a tour, please contact Ellie South on 01233 631259.
