We wish to appoint a specialist SEN Teacher to work with pupils in the upper school.

The position would suit a teacher with experience of teaching pupils with SEN however we have an excellent Induction programme and can support those new to a special needs setting.

 

Ideal candidates will:-

  • hold a recognised teaching qualification
  • have a good understanding of current statutory and curriculum requirements of schools
  • have knowledge of teaching pupils with special educational needs in either a mainstream or specialist setting
  • be able to differentiate their approach for pupils of all abilities
  • be able to work well as a member of a team and have excellent interpersonal skills with children, parents, professionals and other adults
  • be an effective team player with the ability to coordinate and direct the work of classroom support staff
  • have experience of teaching the 14-19 curriculum
  • have experience of teaching Deaf students and hold the qualification Teacher of the Deaf

Information about the school

Foreland Fields School is a Day Special School for pupils with Profound, Severe and Complex Needs (PSCN), many of whom also have Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

We provide for 200+ pupils aged 3-19 in five departments, Nursery, Infants, Juniors (KS2) Secondary (KS3) and KS4/6th Form. In addition, we have satellite classes at Garlinge Primary School, Hartsdown Academy and East Kent College.
