The Science Department at the Academy prides itself in delivering high quality teaching and learning. Students enjoy learning more about the world of Science and as a result behaviour is positive across all years. Students are well driven and want to achieve to their maximum potential. We currently teach KS3 to KS5 with a mixture of AQA GCSE courses running in addition to Level 2 and 3 BTEC courses.   The Science Department consists of 5 teaching staff, with a range of experience from trainee teacher to Leadership, with specialisms across the three separate sciences. Day to day support is provided to the whole department by two Science Technicians.

We are seeking the following specialist science teacher:

Biology specialist Key Stage 4 /5 - a full time teacher who specialises in Biology, capable of teaching A-level Biology to a refined small group of Year 12 & 13 students. In addition teaching required for KS4 Triology science AQA plus KS3.

A promoted position of responsibility as 2nd in Department will be considered for appropriate candidate

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an outstanding engaging teacher with a proven record of successful results.
  • Ideally be experienced in teaching different elements of the science curriculum as a science generalist
  • Be experienced in tracking student progress across key stages and lead intervention for students who are not making expected progress
