New Line Learning Academy is looking for a Teacher of Construction to coach and manage part of our alternative curriculum at KS3 and after examination courses at KS4. The post holder must have experience in dealing with young people who present challenging behaviour and the ability to build good relationships is essential for the role.

 

The role involves delivering lessons to small groups of students, so experience and knowledge of different teaching styles to engage challenging students is a key requirement.

 

Main Responsibility Include:

 

  • To support and engage students in learning activities, ensuring inclusion and acceptance of all students.
  • To offer a curriculum that enables KS4 students to participate and achieve qualifications within the construction industry, that can lead to further qualifications.
  • To review curriculum offer under the guidance of the Inclusion Manager.
  • To ensure effective behaviour management techniques are used in accordance with policies and strategies.
  • Ensure all staff are supported and trained in using the environment effectively.
  • Monitoring the progress of students at KS3 and KS4.
  • Ensuring that all health and safety regulations and procedures are kept up to date.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience of the building trade, ideally working on a construction site.
  • Level 3 Construction Site Supervision Certificate.
  • Level 3 PTTLS – Preparing to Teach and Train.
