An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative and forward thinking team of History teachers in our Academy. We are seeking an excellent Teacher of History with experience of teaching Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 across the ability range to join our team at the Cornwallis Academy.

 

History is one of the most popular subjects at GCSE level with over 100 students opting for the subject each year. It is also popular at A-level and so the successful candidate will play a critical role in the teaching in the department. The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills, a commitment and enthusiasm for the subject, good qualifications and evidence of furthering your knowledge and skills outside the classroom are essential.

 

There is an opportunity to cover the role of Head of Department on a maternity cover basis during this appointment. The successful candidate will be able to show evidence of leading a team of people, developing exciting and innovative resources and schemes of work and have a good understanding of data and using this to drive forward attainment and track the progress of students. For this element of the role, communication skills alongside experience of leadership at a middle level are desirable.
