Grade: Kent Range 3 (FTE £14,952-£16,633)

Hours: 25 hours per week

8:30am-1:30pm 5 days per week, Term Time Only

(39 weeks to include staff development days)

We are looking for an exceptional receptionist with general admin duties who has enthusiasm, energy, drive and experience to be the first point of contact at our busy new Primary School based in the heart of Kennington, Ashford.

The successful candidate will be front of house and will be dealing with all enquiries, greeting and welcoming pupils, parents and visitors. Good literacy, numeracy, computer skills are essential. A knowledge of SIMS would be beneficial. The ideal candidate would operate within our existing office systems and procedures whilst showing initiative and flexibility in this demanding role, with the ability to be adaptable to any situation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential and a good standard of general education is a must.

The ability to work confidentially, keeping work-related issues and discussions in the workplace is a top priority, together with the ability to work under pressure when there are constant interruptions! We are looking for the skills and attributes to complement our existing workforce and, of course, a sense of humour always helps.

The ideal start date for this position would be Tuesday 1 March 2016, but this is subject to negotiation.

Goat Lees Primary School is a one form entry Primary School which opened in September 2013. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a special learning environment that aims to be at the ‘Heart of the Community’. As a member of the CARE Foundation Trust, we work closely with nine other primary schools across the Ashford District to provide support and opportunities for collaboration across our schools.

Our innovative building has been designed by a collaboration of experienced local headteachers and a nationally nominated architectural company which has created a beautiful space in which to stimulate learning. We have further enhanced our facilities by building a performing arts room with a large outdoor stage as part of our commitment to providing a broad and balanced curriculum.

At Goat Lees, we pride ourselves on ensuring that we have done the very best for all our children and work together to bring out the best in everyone. Our staff, governors, children and parents are all incredibly proud of our achievements and our most recent Ofsted report (January 2020) concluded Goat Lees Primary School continues to be a good school.
