St John's Church of England primary school are looking for two dedicated people to join their staff as full time Teaching Assistants.

You will be required to-

  • Provide general in class educational support.
  • Work at times on a one to two basis with key pupils in year 2 and 3 with learning barriers and special educational needs working at a lower ability.
  • Take small intervention/booster groups covering supporting Maths and English.
  • Aid the School with general administrative tasks as and when needed, display work, playground duty.

You will need to have experience of working with children who have ASD/ADHD, be a proactive, driven, loyal individual that will hit the ground running, learn quickly. You will have a passion for developing the 'whole child' in a nurturing yet firm approach.

The school offers excellent CPD so you can continue to grow and develop.

This role will begin in January and it will run for the whole academic year; however this could be made into a permanent contract for the right person.

As part of the interview process you will be given a small English and maths test to complete.

The school, based in the heart of Canterbury, is a larger than average primary school, with two classes in each of Years 1 to 6. The school has provision for Early Years Foundation Stage children, with a nursery and two reception classes. In addition to our teaching team, we have a supportive pastoral team including a Head of Inclusion and Welfare, Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour and Personal Development, SENDCo, EAL Specialist and a FLO. The school is a Church of England voluntary controlled school.
