This exciting opportunity will enable the successful candidate to work as part of our dedicated teaching and learning team.

The successful candidate will provide individual and small group coaching, feedback and activities that will be aimed at closing gaps in pupils' learning, which will enable them to make good progress. The role will also involve working with parents to build strong learning partnerships between home and school.

We can offer a school where children are genuinely enthusiastic about their learning, in a village location on the White Cliffs of Dover. We will provide induction and ongoing professional development for the successful candidate. We work closely with other local schools to develop learning as part of the Samphire Hub of Schools.

The job will initially cover 18.5 hours, and will be paid at Kent Range 6 (pro-rata.) The role is initially for 1 year.

Applicants should also read the enclosed job description and person specification carefully prior to application, as we will be shortlisting against these criteria. In particular, applicants should have some experience of coaching, mentoring or support, either in schools or the wider workplace.

Information about the school

We are a 4-11 single form entry Primary School. We currently have 180 pupils on roll.

Capel-le-Ferne Primary School serves the villages of Capel-le-Ferne, Hougham and Alkham, children also attend from Dover and Folkestone. Our school nestles on the White Cliffs of Dover and is a wonderful location to work. We were graded as a good school by Ofsted in March 2022. At Capel we are fortunate to work for children who are well-behaved, happy and enthusiastic in their learning. We have a dynamic and supportive teaching and learning team, who display a strong commitment to innovation and excellence. We have extended the school with a library, and have spacious, picturesque grounds, which include an outside theatre. Our curriculum is based on our school values of Respect, Independence, Confidence and Creativity.
