Swalecliffe Primary School is a caring and inclusive primary school where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to support our children who may need extra help with their emotional, social, and learning development. 

About the Role 

As a Nurture Teaching Assistant, from 1145am -315pm each day, you will: 

  • Support small groups of children in a calm, structured, and caring environment 
  • Help pupils build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships 
  • Work closely with the Inclusion Lead, Leadership Team, and class teachers to deliver targeted activities to support social communication and self-regulation 
  • Promote social skills, emotional wellbeing, and readiness to learn 
  • Create a welcoming space where every child feels safe, understood, and valued 
  • Support children at a lunchtime club in our Hub 

 

About You 

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Has experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting 
  • Understands social, emotional, and behavioural needs  
  • Understands the importance of building positive and caring relationships 
  • Is patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping children thrive 
  • Works well as part of a team and uses initiative 
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills 

 

Experience with nurture principles, Boxall Profile, emotion coaching, or SEND support would be an advantage, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
