Ripplevale School and College, is a thriving independent special school, for 170 students aged 6 to 25 years old, located in the historic town of Rochester. As part of the Ripplevale family of schools, we provide a holistic, child centred approach to meeting the needs of our students, most of whom have an Education and Health Care Plan. Identified needs may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, dyslexia, speech, language and communication difficulties, DCD, sensory, and high levels of anxiety.

 

Your new role

Ripplevale School and College is looking for a dedicated Safeguarding Assistant to join our team. In this crucial role, you will support the Safeguarding team in effectively managing and reducing risks to our pupils. You will collaborate with external agencies and colleagues within Ripplevale to ensure that all safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly and in accordance with statutory guidelines.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Safeguarding Team, including arranging meetings, collating information, and preparing reports.
  • Work with pupils with varying levels of risk, responding to and planning to meet their individual needs with guidance from the Safeguarding Officer.
  • Ensure all safeguarding matters are handled swiftly and appropriately, maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.

  • Someone with strong emotional resilience.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively with external agencies and internal colleagues.

The school is set in an historic Medway town and enjoys the outstanding community facilities and links that the towns of Chatham and Rochester have to offer.
