We are seeking to recruit an experienced, passionate, and effective teaching assistant, to join our successful, happy and dedicated staff community.

Our school is excited to be able to appoint a new member to our team who has qualifications, skills, and ambition to work 1:1 with a new our mainstream pupil currently entering Year 2.

The role is to ensure the smooth and happy transition for the child and support and enable learning and personal targets to be achieved the highest standards.

This person will work alongside the SLT, SENCo and other teachers to adapt learning, supporting the creative delivery of the curriculum in ways to build confidence in personal development and full access to a broad and rich learning experiences.

Having a good knowledge of SEND, IT programmes and creativity to deliver personalised resources and promote independence is necessary.

The school team are highly motivated to enable all children to succeed, and this career opportunity would enable the right candidate to work continue to develop outstanding practice while building their own career path supported through a bespoke career programme.

It is a temporary, term-time only role linked to funding.

Essential skills

  • The use of independent initiative when supporting a pupil with Autism.
  • The ability to work with a team in a responsive and flexible manner, responding to the instruction and advice of the SENCo and class teachers.
  • Ability to reflect and see solutions in daily teaching, in own practice and that of the team.
  • To share ideas for the adjustment of learning so that pupils know and remember more.
  • To use presence and a consistent approach to reflect our GOLD Rights Respecting status and give positive feedback and next steps for pupils.
  • To build effective trusting relationships with the whole school team and link professionally with parents and otjher professionals as required.
  • To use creativity to bring ideas and an enthusiastic approach to enable children to reach full potential.
  • A willingness and interest in using CPD to further and develop own career.

Desirable skills

  • Experience of working with ppils with Autism.
  • A willingness to contribute to wider – curricular opportunities such as clubs and events.

 Qualifications

  •  Teaching Assistant experience and qualifications.
  • Proven ability to engage and motivate pupils in different key stages through the use of dynamic & engaging techniques.
