We are looking to recruit a part time Caretaker who is able to multitask in a busy and demanding environment.  You will be working with the Senior Caretaker on site and report to the Business Manager.

Previous experience of working within a school environment is desirable, but not essential.    You will need to be organised, reliable, able to prioritise work and follow instruction.  General site maintenance and security are the main focus of the role.  Undertaking security checks, minor repairs, decorating, receiving deliveries and general portage duties are among some of the varied tasks of the role.  You should be able to demonstrate your understanding, knowledge and prior experience within these areas.

This is a 5 day a week position working Monday – Friday.  The hours for the position are on a 2 week rota of earlies (6.30am – 1.00pm) and lates (11.30am – 6.00pm).  It is to work 44 weeks per year (term time plus 5 weeks). We are looking for the position to start in January 2025.

Elms School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every student and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. References will be taken up before interview and the successful applicant will require an enhanced DBS check, employment medical and verification of the right to work in the UK.

In line with KCSIE 2023 guidance, as part of the shortlisting process, we reserve the right to conduct an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence and to share any pertinent information found concerning a candidate’s suitability to work with children with the Headteacher.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
