We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Drama (0.40 FTE ) from January or April 2025. The role will be teaching Drama up to A Level. The ability to teach English would be desirable.

We welcome applications from talented individuals who will dedicate themselves to the implementation of the school’s vision and the development of the Drama Department. This is an opportunity to work at an ‘Artsmark Platinum Award’ winning school. We have developed a rich arts and cultural offer, with a wide range of performance opportunities in music and drama and a host of exciting projects and events offering students leadership experience and ownership of their engagement in the arts.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher, passionate about the role of drama in the lives of young people. They will have experience of teaching from KS3 to A Level, and of commitment to, and delivery of, a high quality extra-curricular offer. This role would suit someone who is eager to develop and promote the arts inside and outside of the classroom, and who is either currently teaching drama or an ECT ambitious to develop their career further.

Having moved into a multimillion-pound new building in 2021, including a purpose-built drama studio, the school’s development has seen an expansion of our extra-curricular and elective programmes.

The successful candidate will be offered a full programme of personal professional development and support as they continue in their career, alongside a comprehensive induction programme.

Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School is a highly respected selective Voluntary Controlled Girls’ Grammar School that places students’ academic success on a par with their wellbeing, creating a unique learning community where every individual matters. Students attending the school are aged between 11-18 years and the school has a student roll of about 1,300 students (with approx. 400 pupils in our mixed Sixth Form).
