Responsible To: The Senior Leadership Team – Newingate School

We are seeking an ‘all-round’ curriculum tutor to join our team, who has the willingness, confidence and ability to work with a range of our students both on and off site, including possibly within the family home or online, to maintain continuity of provision and reintegration back/into school.

We are looking for colleagues who are a great all-rounder: enthusiastic, innovative, committed, highly motivated and a positive role model. Those with prior experience or training in the Primary or SEND sectors will be well prepared for tutoring our students. We aspire to GCSE (or equivalent) outcomes for our students so those with secondary training or tutoring experience are just as welcome and encouraged to apply.

We are committed to offering a full and broad curriculum across the provision that enables excellent outcomes for our students.  If you have the experience and drive to lead on a specific element of provision we will offer the opportunity and support to do so. The willingness to tutor subjects beyond that in which you are primarily trained to teach is essential.

Job Summary

  • Able to design a high-quality tutoring curriculum, giving students the confidence to succeed
  • Able to engage and inspire students through engaging sessions and varied learning opportunities to reduce gaps in learning
  • Able to support our students to reach their full personal and academic potential

 We offer:

  • A variety of development and professional learning opportunities, including our own in-house training programmes and fully funded leadership CPD
  • Support from experienced staff and Senior Leaders to continually refine and develop your tutoring/teaching practice.
  • A closely knit and collaborative staff team dedicated to ensuring very positive outcomes for our students.
  • Professional ‘freedom’ to create and deliver the most appropriate curriculum for our students
  • Access to a wider network of professional colleagues to support, celebrate and develop innovative pedagogy
