As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the educational journey of our pupils. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to start your teaching career in a supportive environment or an experienced educator seeking a fresh challenge, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Embrace our ‘One Childhood, One Chance’ philosophy, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
  • Place exceptional teaching and learning at the heart of your practice, inspiring a love of learning in every pupil.
  • Demonstrate the potential to grow and develop into an outstanding practitioner — our children deserve nothing less.
  • Be committed to collaborative working, contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
  • Engage, motivate, and support pupils, staff, and parents with creativity, flair, sensitivity, and challenge.
  • Have the drive and determination to ensure every child receives a first-class educational experience.
  • Want to be part of the Viking Academy Team, working alongside dynamic colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across our Trust.

What we offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative team of teachers dedicated to delivering the very best outcomes for our pupils.
  • A nurturing environment for ECTs, with a structured induction programme designed to support your development.
  • The opportunity to work in a creative, arts-infused school where every child is empowered to reach their full potential.
  • A strong leadership team across the Trust, ensuring all our schools provide an exceptional educational experience.
  • A commitment to staff wellbeing, with ongoing action to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
  • Fabulous pupils who are eager to learn and ready to be inspired by an exceptional teacher.
  • A tailored induction and CPD programme to support your continuous professional development and areas for growth.

Information about the trust

The Viking Academy Trust is a primary only, Multi-Academy Trust consisting of three inspirational schools: Upton Junior School, Chilton Primary School and Ramsgate Arts Primary School.

Our One Childhood One Chance philosophy resonates throughout everything we do at the Viking Academy Trust.

At Viking, we make sure that our ultimate focus and core purpose remains excellent teaching and learning for every child. Our teaching is progressive and adaptive and we strive for the best outcomes for all. We invest time and training into our staff so that they can invest their skills and expertise into our children.

For children to thrive, they need to feel that they belong. Our people and our environments are warm and welcoming. Every member of our staff invests in building strong relationships with children and getting to know children well means we can focus on equity of opportunity.

This means that we can prioritise social and emotional learning along with the academic as we know that children need to learn how to be resilient, to have healthy and safe relationships and to face the world with problem solving skills.

We nurture children to become responsible citizens, ready to face the modern world and to make the most of their every potential both academically and socially. At Viking schools, we have high standards and expectations and we know how to support children to reach them.
