Folkestone Academy is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to join our Secondary School team. We are seeking an individual who can bring their passion for the subject to life in the classroom, supporting our students in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging and innovative Maths lessons to students across KS3, KS4, and possibly KS5.
  • Develop students’ problem-solving skills and foster a love for learning Mathematics using our Mastery Curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Work closely with the Maths department and contribute to the development of high-quality schemes of work and resources.
  • Support the academic and personal development of students, helping them to achieve their best.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and school events.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher with:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • A passion for teaching Maths and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong classroom management skills with a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work as part of a dynamic team and contribute to the department's success.
  • We would also welcome applications from strong candidates with extensive KS2 teaching experience, particularly those who have delivered a Mastery based maths curriculum.
