We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and experienced individual to lead our English department. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic teacher who is passionate about driving progress and improving outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the English department
  • Develop and implement a challenging and engaging English curriculum
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in English
  • Support and mentor colleagues to improve their practice
  • Analyse data and use it to inform planning and interventions
  • Promote the love of English and literature across the school

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Substantial experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Proven track record of leading and managing a successful English department
  • Excellent subject knowledge and pedagogical expertise
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable Qualities:

  • Ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Innovative approach to teaching and learning
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school

Salary:

MPS or UPS with possible TLR
