The Stour Academy Trust are looking to appoint a caretaker to oversee the maintenance and site duties at Chilmington Green Primary School. We are looking for a pro-active, adaptable and positive individual to join our team. This role is vital for ensuring the maintenance of the school premises, buildings and equipment to ensure the safety of pupils, staff and visitors. 

A clean driving licence would be an advantage, but not necessary.

The role includes responsibility for:

  • Site Security
  • General maintenance, repairs, cleaning and decorating
  • Regular fire, water and alarm tests and record keeping
  • You will need to unlock at the start of the day but here is no responsibility for locking up school at the end of the day in term time.

 

This role is:

  • 20 hours per week Mon - Friday
  • Term time working plus 15 days during school holidays
  • Pro-rata'd KR3 salary - approximately £10,665 per year

 

The successful candidate will have previous experience of building maintenance and knowledge of basic plumbing, joinery, electrical and decorating repair. Basic computer skills preferred but not essential.

We are seeking applicants that can act on their own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that may arise with a positive attitude.

Information about the school

Location: Ashford, Kent UK Chilmington Green Primary School is a growing primary school on the new Chilmington Green development in Ashford. Opening in 2018 in a temporary building before moving into a state-of-the-art building in 2021. Pupil numbers are growing rapidly, currently standing at 260 pupils. We would encourage any applicant to visit the school for a tour. It is operating at one form entry in Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two and will eventually allow two forms of entry, as 60 Year R pupils join the school each year. The school nursery has a dedicated space for children aged 2 - 4 years old. The school also includes a Specialist Resource Provision for up to 14 pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
