Chilmington Green Primary School is growing! Therefore we have vacancies for Intervention Teaching Assistants. This is an integral role in school to support individuals and small groups of children across the school especially in our Specialist Resource Provision.

The SRP at Chilmington Green is a specialist provision to support pupils with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) and has places for up to 14 children. Within this provision, each pupil has an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP)

The ideal candidates will be hard-working, flexible and adaptable with good literacy and numeracy skills. Previous experience of working with children with educational needs is desirable but above all, we would like someone with a calm and positive approach to working with children with varying levels of special educational needs. We are fully committed to ensuring that pupils within this area of special need are integrated as fully as possible into our schools and that they feel as highly valued as all other pupils.

This can be a challenging position, but equally very rewarding. The successful applicant will be joining a well established and forward thinking team of professionals, supported by the wider Trust

The roles are:

  • Term time only working, Monday to Friday
  • 30 hours per week 
  • Pro rata'd KR3 salary = approximately £15, 998 gross (38 weeks per year + 5 weeks holiday pay)

This roles are attached to funding and therefore offered as a temporary contract, it is subject to review in July 2025. The likelihood is that the roles will extend.

Information about the school

Location: Ashford, Kent UK Chilmington Green Primary School is a growing primary school on the new Chilmington Green development in Ashford. Opening in 2018 in a temporary building before moving into a state-of-the-art building in 2021. Pupil numbers are growing rapidly, currently standing at 260 pupils. We would encourage any applicant to visit the school for a tour. It is operating at one form entry in Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two and will eventually allow two forms of entry, as 60 Year R pupils join the school each year. The school nursery has a dedicated space for children aged 2 - 4 years old. The school also includes a Specialist Resource Provision for up to 14 pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan for Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
