Leigh Academy Minster is now appointing an Inclusion Room Officer to become a part of our team. Joining us as soon as possible, the successful candidate will be professional and dedicated to changing the life chances of young people by forging strong relationships based on high expectations with both the student and their parent/carer. Working directly within our exceptional pastoral team, we monitor behaviour, promote success and identify support for both the student and family.

You will have a calm, positive and resilient manner, approachable and warm whilst being able to maintain authority at all times.

Our successful candidate will play a pivotal role working across the academy to: 

  • Establish our intent to embed behaviour as curriculum -  designed to develop individual character through ongoing personal development and personal discipline.
  • To supervise and coordinate the implementation of inclusion as part of the academy’s behaviour management system.
  • To educate, practice and provide feedback and strategies on positive attitudes and social skills developing individual character within our culture of academic excellence.
  • To promote the importance of inclusion not exclusion with students, parents and carers.
  • Supervise and support young people within our reflection rooms, ensuring pupils are completing assigned work to a high standard and provide opportunities for pupils to reflect on and improve their behaviour and attitudes. 
  • To monitor the impact of inclusion strategies and report back to the leadership team.

This is a permanent role, working 37 hours per week, term time only and offers an actual salary of £22,521 - £24,111 per annum (£26,873 - £28,770 full-time equivalent), based on experience.

The academy will provide all students with a high-quality academic education through the internationally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in Key Stage 3, as well as national academic and vocational qualifications in Key Stages 4 and 5.
