Job Summary

Five Acre Wood School are continuing to grow our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and are looking for an inspirational Therapy Assistant to join this very special school. You will be working within a team, employed by the school, made up of a MDT Lead/Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapist, two Speech and Language Therapists, two other Therapy Assistants, Counsellor for both pupils and staff and school Social Worker. As part of your day to day work you might also liaise with visiting therapists who work for the NHS.

The role is a full time, 37 hours per week, 8.00am - 4.00pm (finishing at 3.30pm one day per week), Monday to Friday term time plus 4 additional weeks to be worked during the school holidays (to be agreed with the line manager).

Main duties of the job

The role will involve working directly and indirectly with pupils, teaching teams and, at times, pupil’s families. You will also be involved in project work, resource making and other clerical and administrative tasks. Although you will be highly organised and able to work autonomously, your workload will be determined in collaboration with other members of the MDT.

Successful candidates may be either be experienced and successful Therapy or Teaching Assistants who enjoy team working and taking responsibility. You will have also worked in a Special Needs or child based environment.

You will be required to work across all of our three any sites - Loose, Allington and Snodland.
