The Governing Body seeks to appoint an inspiring, energetic, highly motivated and a strong faith-filled Catholic leader for our outstanding Catholic Primary School in January 2025. We are looking for a Headteacher to continue to develop our school and opportunities for our children. To build on the high standards achieved to date, whilst maintaining the loving, happy and caring family atmosphere of the school.

  The successful candidate will:

  • Be an active and committed practising Catholic who will continue to build our successful relationships with parents, local parish, the Diocese, and wider community.
  • Provide strong, inspiring leadership to develop the school for the future guided by the educational mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Ensure that each child is educated according to their needs, with the highest aspiration for every child.
  • Maintain rigorous standards of teaching and learning and raise children’s achievement.
  • Is an experienced senior leader who can manage and inspire our team of teachers and staff, whilst developing the potential of every individual. Demonstrate integrity, initiative, energy, and excellent relationship building skills.
  • Has a strong strategic vision backed up with the practical skills to implement that vision.

St Thomas More Catholic Primary School is a Voluntary Aided , two form entry mixed Catholic Primary School with 420 pupils aged between 4-11 years old.

Our school is linked to our Parish Church, St Simon Stock, in Walderslade, Chatham, Kent currently under the guidance of our Parish Priest, Father Pawel.

Our most recent award was the Inclusive Schools Quality Mark with Centre of Excellence status. To provide an outstanding academic education and to develop in our pupils an understanding of, and respect for, spiritual and moral values within a caring Christian community. We work in partnership with the Catholic and local school community to enhance children’s learning and collaborative working.
