We wish to appoint a dedicated and motivated teaching assistant for our Year 5 class. Experience in Key Stage 2 is essential. This position involves supporting a range of abilities in small groups, carry out interventions planned by our lovely class teacher, as well as supporting whole class activities. You would be supported by an experienced and talented team of teachers, Senior Leadership Team and an established team of accomplished teaching assistants.

We are ideally looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience of working within Key Stage 2
  • A good understanding of the national curriculum
  • Experience of using different interventions or the willingness to learn
  • Necessary qualifications - ideally NVQL2/3 in child care
  • An ability to communicate and work as part of a team

This is a part-time position for 27.5 hours a week during term time, additional hours may be available providing after school care, starting in the new academic year - September 2024.

Teynham is a semi rural location with good transport links (both bus and train). Currently we have 200 pupils in seven classes. The school has spacious school grounds, including playgrounds, sports field, wellbeing area and environmental areas, including a Forest School. We also have an ICT suite and purpose built meeting room. We have strong links with the Pre-school (situated on site) and local church. We work as a team supporting each other and ensuring that we do the best for our children. The school is undergoing an exciting transformation ,work on the new buildhas already started, with expansion to two form entry, planned for September 2025.
