The successful postholder will provide support to the Therapy Team and work under the direct guidance of the Occupational Therapist to deliver occupational therapy interventions to pupils at Rowhill school. These interventions will be aimed at improving the overall independence and functional skills of our pupils mainly by developing their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, self-regulation, sensory processing skills and daily living skills.

The Occupational Therapist works closely with pupils and members of staff to identify areas of need in order to help with specific functional difficulties. The successful post-holder may work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or a group basis, guided by the recommendations and advice given by the Occupational Therapist.

You will receive necessary training to understand your role, duties and responsibilities and be supported with regular supervision.

Information about the school

Rowhill School is a day special school designated for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The school currently has approximately 160 pupils on roll, between the ages of 5 and 16. Pupils have a wide range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, as well as behavioural, social and mental health needs. We also provide an Alternative Curriculum Provision for KS4 pupils, providing tutoring, both on and off site.

The Dartford STLS teaching service also forms part of the schools structure.
