We currently have a vacancy for an Wellbeing and Attendance Support Worker at Kent Range 6 (32.75 hours per week Term Time Only plus 5 training days). This is a one year fixed term contract. 

Kent Range 6 FTE £25,127.00 - £26,383.00 (Pro-rota) - Actual Salary £19,297.54 - £20,262.14

In addition to the above the roles will also receive SENA (Special Educational Needs Allowance) currently at pro rota of £1441.72

We are looking to appoint an experienced person as a Wellbeing and Attendance Support Worker to join our Wellbeing Team. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children with SEND. They will also need to be a skilled communicator, resilient, possess excellent interpersonal skills and have good knowledge of school-based systems.

The Wellbeing and Attendance Support Worker will play a crucial role in promoting positive attendance. By understanding individual reasons for non-attendance, you’ll collaborate with students, parents, and external agencies to improve attendance for our most vulnerable children. This is not an administrative role but there will be elements of attendance data analysis and recent experience of working with students with SEND is essential. As a member of the Wellbeing Team, you will be providing hands on support and interventions to students on a day-to-day who may require high levels of emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a Positive Role Model:
    • Support students and address their individual needs.
    • Relate effectively to pupils, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and emotional support.
    • Passionately contribute to pupil wellbeing.
  • Effective Communication:
    • Interact sensitively with students.
    • Confidently engage with parents and external agencies.
    • Demonstrate excellent communication, literacy, and IT skills (knowledge of Arbor is advantageous).
  • Experience
    • Previous experience working with children with autism and speech language and communication difficulties.
    • Familiarity with school-based systems.

Laleham Gap is a Communication and Interaction Special School. We have pupils aged from 4 to 18 years of age. Most of our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism. All pupils have an EHCP. Most pupils will achieve some GCSEs or equivalent at age 16.
