Five Acre Wood is a successful, outward looking and expanding District Special School based over 3 sites in and around Maidstone, Kent. We currently have over 750 pupils on roll aged 2-19 years with profound, severe and complex needs.

We are currently looking to recruit committed, enthusiastic, hard-working practitioners to work as part of the Specialist Intervention Nursery in the Outreach team. This role would involve working with pre-school aged children who have been identified as part of the LIFT process to benefit from receiving specialist support and this would take place within their Early Years Setting.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To model good practice and strategies as recommended by Specialist Intervention Nursery Manager or the Early Years Specialist Teacher in mainstream Early Years settings
  • To work with children individually and in small groups to model best practice to Nursery staff
  • Provide Nursery Manager with detailed feedback as to pupil’s progress and development, to inform the statutory assessment process.
  • Attend specialist intervention review meetings and/or Joint Assessment Meetings with parents and professionals, as required.
  • To support Early Years practitioners to enable children with SEND to achieve the best outcomes
  • To assist settings with Personalised Plan strategies
  • To review Personalised Plan outcomes, short term targets and strategies with Specialist Intervention Nursery Manager regularly
  • To provide feedback to the Specialist Intervention Nursery Manager and settings practitioners
  • To maintain your subject knowledge of the EYFS, current processes and SEND strategies

The role is full time, term time only with 30 minutes lunch. There is a start time of 8:30-4pm on Outreach days and one day class based onsite at Loose from 8-3:30pm.

Actual salary for the post is £21,175.20 including SEN allowance.
