Strood Academy has a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (ASD) to join our highly collaborative and supportive team from Easter/Sepetmber 2023. ​​​​​​​Our successful candidate will support curriculum delivery across the Academy through working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants and mentors. The HLTA will be able to encourage pupils to become independent learners, whilst providing appropriate support for pupils with special educational needs. This role would suit an experienced teaching assistant seeking the next step in their career! 

This is a brand new opportunity as we will be opening a Specialist Resource Provision with Medway for ASD students. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced HLTA who to work alongside these students to provide exceptional support both academically and pastorally with the SEND team.

The basis of this role is 37 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week inset, with an actual salary of £18,791 - £23,852 per annum (£21,968 - £27,852 full-time equivalent) dependent on experience. This is a fixed-term opportunity for 1 year in the first instance until August 2024.

Centralised behaviour system and detentions - simple for teachers to follow allowing disruptive-free classrooms. Our commitment to the development of all staff - CPD on Wednesday afternoons and the opportunity to collaborate with staff from other schools in the LAT. Also all staff at Strood receive regular coaching feedback through our on-line platform on-track. Strood academy is easily accessible by A2 and the high speed train can allow for travel into London in less than 30 minutes. We have a common sense approach to workload. All teachers are expected to feedback or live mark. We also work closely as a Trust allowing for centralised resources to be shared across our secondary schools.
