We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Teaching Assistant who is committed to working in partnership with an outstanding year 2 class teacher and teaching team in raising standards and securing the best possible achievements for every child. Hours are 8.30am-3.15pm daily, ( 1 hour lunch)  term time only. 

To become part of our team as an Outstanding Class Teaching Assistant you will need to:

  • Have experience of supporting children within a school setting
  • Have high expectations of yourself and others and have a proven record of good/outstanding practice which resulted in accelerated progress and attainment for children
  • Have high standards in both spoken and written English, providing a good role model for children
  • Be a proactive learner, using support and advice to support and enhance teaching and learning
  • Have the energy and drive to support the class teacher in getting the best outcomes for every child  
  • Be highly organised, motivated and flexible with the ability to inspire and challenge children
  • Have some experience of cover supervision of a whole class or a large group of children      
  • Demonstrate the vision and values of the school in everyday work and practice
  • A willingness to make a difference to all children's life experiences through supporting the delivery of a bespoke curriculum 
  • Have lots of energy and a good sense of humour
  • Are flexible in your approach and have a positive work ethic
  • Are enthusiastic, reliable and work well as part of a team.

Information about the school

Downs View is a three-form entry purpose built Infant School on the outskirts of Ashford. We have 270 children in our school. We enjoy an excellent partnership with other local schools and settings, including Kennington C of E Academy. We have five Basic Skills Quality Mark awards, a Healthy School Award, Platinum Travel Plan, Active Sports Mark, Governor Mark and Arts Mark Gold. In June 2011 we were graded Outstanding by Ofsted. We have a Forest School area and extensive grounds which we utilise to maximise learning. We are part of a very proactive CATs collaboration where we benefit from working in partnership with fifteen other local schools in Ashford. We have two Senior Leaders in Education and have benefited from having a Maths mastery specialist; they enrich the opportunities we offer for all children. They also utilise their expertise to support other schools and colleagues.
