Teaching Assistant

FTC to 31st July 2023

30 hours per week, term time only

NJC Scale 2/3 Points 3-6

Salary pro rata to £14,110 - £14,894

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated teaching assistant to support the class teacher to deliver high quality 1:1 learning.

The successful candidate will be confident to support student learning experiences working to attend to their behavioural, emotional, social and educational development and physical care under the direction and guidance of the Class Teacher and the SENCO.

We have four classes, with 83 pupils currently on roll. The school works in strong partnership with parents and is proud to be a small school that makes a big difference.

Rolvenden Primary is a small rural school comprising of 4 mixed age classes; which both nurture and foster independence and confidence. We currently have 83 pupils on roll serving the children of the village and beyond.

Our school values are based firmly around the theme of CREATE. This acronym represents the values we believe all of our children should show during their time at Rolvenden; Creativity, Resilience, Engagement, Aspirations, Teamwork and Enjoyment.

Our teachers are creative, enthusiastic and our children love to learn. The school has been in the village since 1837 and has classrooms in the original Victorian building, as well as a mobile classroom and library.

Rolvenden Primary is nestled within the picturesque village, our school benefits from amazing facilities including an enormous school field and an outdoor swimming pool.

We are well resourced for both curricular and extra curricular activities.

As a school we are part of the Tenterden Schools Trust. This is a local trust and includes Homewood Secondary School, Tenterden Church of England Junior School, Tenterden Infant School and St. Michael's Church of England Primary School. Being part of this trust enables our staff to have additional professionals to work closely with to ensure we provide an excellent learning environment for our children and work place for our staff and their chosen professional development route.

We endeavour to enjoy our rural links, by using the environment to support many of our studies and go on whole school Welly Walks where other family members are invited to join us! Our children love taking part in our whole school productions - whether at school, in the Church, on our field or at the National Trust Theatre at Smallhythe Place.
