Cage Green is looking to appoint a learning mentor to join our team.  We need a proactive, enthusiastic individual with truckloads of patience, an understanding of children with additional needs, a sense of humour, an interest in 'what makes people tick' and the ability to get inside a child's head.  

The successful candidate will work with targetted children to improve their learning behaviour, develop their motivation and support them with strategies to engage with their learning.  This role will involve some classbased work to support children in a classroom setting, social skills groups and other such group based intervention, 1:1 work and also running clubs at lunchtime to develop children's social skills.  

At Cage Green we are a noisy bunch who take our role in improving children's lives seriously. Many of our children come from challenging circumstances, but we have absolutely beautiful behaviour, children who are engaged and willing to learn and we laugh a lot every day.  Some of our children need a bit of extra support to meet our high expectations and we need a learning mentor to help us on that journey. 

You will work alongside our Family Liason Officer and our Assistant Head for Inclusion to ensure that we are giving our children the best possible chances they can have.  

The role will be 8am - 3:30pm.  The start of the morning will involve supporting identified  children in our breakfast club to have a positive start to the day.  There will be half hour lunch break.

Cage Green Primary School is a small, happy primary school in north Tonbridge with 210 pupils from Reception to Year Six, including a resourced provision for children with autistic spectrum conditions.
