Offham Primary School are currently seeking a general kitchen assistant/ midday meals supervisor  , to work alongside our school cook, kitchen assistant and midday meal supervisor daily

At Offham Primary School we have in-house catering, meaning that, as our new Kitchen Assistant, you will be working directly for our school team. We are a close knit staff community here at Offham and are looking foward to welcoming you into our happy school team.

We have a small school kitchen and cook all of our school meals daily. We pride ourselves on delivering healthy and tasty school meals, including a main, vegetarian and packed lunch option daily. We also cater for a number of children with special dietary requirements. Our children and our families help us to select our menus, meaning that children really enjoy school dinners.

Last year we refurbished our school kitchen and now boast an amazing new combination oven, which makes our school meals even tastier!

Our new kitchen assistant will be a vital part of our catering team, helping to prepare our daily meals and ensure that our kitchen always meets 5* food hygiene standards. 

Daily duties to include:

• Cleaning the kitchen, including washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls
• Carrying out basic food preparation tasks
• Setting up the hall for the children to have dinner with the other midday meal supervisor 

  • Carrying out tasks within  the kitchen as directed by the school cook 
  • Asissting with dinner service 
  • Helping to ensure the hall is clean and tidy after lunch service 

Ideally we are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, is kind, patient and has a good sense of humour. Works hard and thinks on their feet and can pick up new tasks quickly and with ease. Offham is a a rural location so you will need to drive to be able to get to work each day. 

Hours: 11am-2pm daily, Monday - Friday.

This is a part time role, so the salary is paid on a pro rata - take home monthly will be approx. £600/ £650 a month take home.
