We are looking to recruit a Nursery Practitioner to join our Early Years team.  This role will be in Seashells, the nursery class within the school, and will be a temporary role until 31st August 2023, with potential to extend.

Duties will include;

  • Providing a stimulating environment for children to thrive.
  • Being responsible for a group of children as their key person.
  • Under the supervision of the nursery teachers, to observe, monitor and record children’s development.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team
  • Making nursery fun for every child.

In the mornings, the focus will be on supporting children with SEND.

Hours - 33.75 hours per week.  8.30am - 3.45pm

Starting Salary: £19,293 (pro-rata to hours and weeks worked)

38 weeks per year (minimum qualification NVQ level 3)

This large thriving school is well established in the area and shares a site with Herne Bay Junior School, bounded by Kings Road and Stanley Road and enjoying a central position in the town.

The school is a 3 form entry with a nursery and there are currently 300 children on roll. There is a good staff/pupil ratio throughout the school ensuring an inclusive, creative, supportive and secure environment.

As a school committed to safeguarding children all staff members will undergo an enhanced DBS check and candidates will be assessed on their suitability to work with children. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, checks include references, online searches and health clearance before employment.
