SENIOR LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

£24,919 - £27,176 including SEN Allowance (Actual 41 week salary)

Permanent position

38.5 hours per week, 08:30 – 16:30 Monday – Friday, 41 weeks per year

As part of the 41 weeks, the post holder will be required to commit to two weeks Short Term break care work during school holidays.

Bradstow is a creative and unique residential school for children between the ages of 5 & 19. It is situated in 13 acres of parkland just a few hundred metres from the sandy beaches of Broadstairs. We seek to meet the needs of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties with associated behaviours that may be challenging. We have achieved national recognition for our developments in Communication and Behaviour Management.

The aim of this post is to be the prime support for the teacher in a class group. When the teacher is present they will work collaboratively together to support the young people and staff team. In the planned absence of the teacher, the Senior Learning Support Assistant will lead and manage the class, directing the implementation of schedules and person-centred support plans for the young people.

Information about the school

Bradstow is a residential special school registered as a children's home in Broadstairs, Kent. It is maintained by the London Borough of Wandsworth for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities who are on the autistic spectrum continuum. Many of our children and young people have associated communication difficulties and emotional/behavioural challenges associated with their disabilities and medical needs.
