Advert

We are looking to recruit an inspiring Nursery Teacher for between 3 and 5 days per week.  We will consider either full or part time for the right candidate, and welcome applications from either Early Career Teachers or experienced practitioners.  There may be potential to also work in our Reception classes if appropriate (to be discussed at interview).

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about early child development and creating an environment in which children with a wide range of needs can flourish. The successful candidate will have high expectations for all children and believe in teaching and delivering a stimulating and creative curriculum.

Our term-time nursery provides for up to twenty-five children per session, led by a qualified Teacher and two Early Years Practitioners.  The children enjoy a range of play experiences indoors and outdoors, including a weekly Forest School session.  The nursery runs as a class within our school, so the children and staff benefit from being part of our wider school community.

St John's promotes the achievement of every child within a caring, Christian community.  We believe in nurturing each individual pupil in order for them to reach their full potential. Our key person approach ensures that children and their families have a warm welcome into the setting, and home school partnerships remain strong throughout their time in nursery.

Our most recent Ofsted report said, "Pupils’ behaviour is good. A purposeful calmness permeates the school. Strong relationships between staff and pupils help pupils feel secure and promote their learning and personal development well."

St John's is located in the heart of Canterbury.  We have excellent facilities including an award winning library, excellent outdoor spaces and sporting facilities including an astroturf.
