We require an Attendance Officer/Receptionist with Admin Duties to join our Admin Team.  This will be a permanent position.

The position would be 38 weeks per year, term time only.  The working hours for this role are 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.45 am - 3.15 pm with a 30 minute lunch break.

The Receptionist role will consist of:

  • Provide a friendly, welcoming, first point of contact for parents/carers, visitors and staff
  • The ability to cope with conflicting demands, deadlines and interruptions and work to deadlines in a methodical manner observing confidentiality at all times
  • Undertake general office duties including; filing, collating, parent/carer communications, photocopying and scanning
  • Undertake general typing tasks including maintenance of spreadsheets, newsletters
  • Helping to update the school website
  • Assist with administration of pupil admissions to the school

The Attendance role will consist of:

  • To liaise with staff, the Local Authority, relevant outside agencies as well as parent/carers to improve and maintain attendance and punctuality
  • To ensure that attendance registers are completed accurately.  Follow the school's first day calling procedures to ensure there are no missing marks or unexplained absences
  • Use the school management information system to produce reports and interpret the information relating to attendance patterns and breakdown of vulnerable groups e.g LAC, EAL, PP, FSM etc

Information about the school

St. Mildred’s is a three form entry infant school in Broadstairs with a creative and child centred approach to education. The school is situated near the railway station and library and is about 10 minutes from the beach at Viking Bay. Our Outstanding Ofsted report from November 2021 stated ‘Everyone works together to help pupils achieve their very best. Consequently, pupils are happy and eager to be at school.

St Mildred's has a well developed creative curriculum, which provides our children with exciting opportunities for learning, both in the classroom and in the wider environment. We place high value on the Arts and outdoor learning; we have established a Forest School in our grounds. Our staff are friendly, enthusiastic and very committed to providing the best education we can for our pupils.

We have an active PTFA and supportive Governing Body, all of whom contribute to the strong community environment we have within the school.

St Mildred's is a Co-operative Foundation Primary school which believes strongly in the Co-operative ethos. As part of Thanet Endeavour Learning Trust we work in very close partnership with Bromstone Primary School with whom we are federated, and with Garlinge Primary School. We share our Executive Headteacher with Garlinge, Bromstone and Parkside Schools.

As part of our Admissions Policy, children of staff who have been employed by us for 2 years or more rank second on our Admissions criteria to gain entry to our school.
