Oakley School is the Tunbridge Wells District Special School for day pupils, aged from 3 to 19 years, all of whom have profound, severe and complex needs.

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our vibrant, friendly, positive and collaborative team, working across our three sites.  We would also consider applications from newly qualified therapists.

You will play an integral part in mapping the OT provision and working with our Therapy Assistants to support pupils and their Parents/Carers to achieve person centred outcomes relevant to Education, Health Care Plans and you will work with a variety of colleagues to achieve this.

The ideal candidate will ideally have experience of working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, within an educational setting.

Hours: 37 hrs per week, working 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.00pm on Fridays, with half an hour lunch break each day.  The post is term time only plus two extra weeks to be worked across the holidays.

Salary range: £24,000 to £35,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience and paid pro rata to hours and weeks worked. Information about the school

Oakley School is the Tunbridge Wells District Special School for day pupils, aged from 3 to 19 years, with a specialist Observation and Assessment Nursery for 3-5 years. All our children and young people have profound, severe/complex needs and communication and learning difficulties.

We have a site in Tonbridge which caters for our Phase 4 (16+) students and a site in Tunbridge Wells which caters for children and young people from the age of 3 to 16. We also have a satellite provision at Skinners' Kent Primary School. Our one-day Section 8 OFSTED inspection in March 2019 reaffirmed us as 'Good'. We aspire to be outstanding in all that we do.
