We are looking for a local authority school governor to add to our governing body, so if you are looking for a new challenge, enjoy working as part of a team and are interested in giving something back to your community, this could be the opportunity for you.

School governors work with the senior leadership team to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the school, monitor school performance and ensure that the school budget is well spent; ultimately ensuring that our school provides the best possible education for our children.

There are no formal qualifications required to be a school governor, however you will need to be wiling to dedicate time to carry out monitoring in school as well as read paperwork before meetings and be prepared to challenge the school through questioning. We encourage new governors to carry out training to carry out their roles as effectively as possible.

A local authority govenor will need to be approved by the local authority before they can take on this role - the school can facilitate this application.

If you would like to find out more about the role and meet the headteacher, Mr Kris Hiscock, please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.
