What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced SEN Teacher who can lead our Maths curriculum and has experience delivering GCSE level lessons. This candidate will need to embody a therapeutic understanding and approach to working with our very vulnerable pupils with high expectations for all our pupils in achieving their best outcomes. ISP School is also looking to expand its creative arts curriculum, so experience or passion in this area would be desirable.

Role responsibilities

• Teach small groups of pupils within and outside the class
• Planning and preparing lessons and resources
• Marking and assessing work
• Liaising with parents, external agencies and a range of professionals
• Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.

Requirements

• QTS Maths specialist with SEN experience
• A passion for creative arts would be desirable
• Excellent skills in managing behaviour
• Holistic thinker that operates in a therapeutic way
• Ability to form positive and engaging relationships with children or all ages
• Ability to assess and monitor progress and inform target setting
• Skill in de-escalating challenging behaviour
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils needs
• Working as part of a team
