This is a fabulous opportunity to join the school team at Milstead and Frinsted Cof E Primary School which is part of Our Community Multi Academy Trust. We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to contribute to the management of pupil behaviour and to support pupils during learning activities.    Milstead is one of ten schools within Our Community Multi Academy Trust. We are a primary school with 84 pupils on our roll.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Good standard of general education (i.e. NVQ level 1 or equivalent) together with good numeracy and literacy skills 
  • Have necessary skills to manage and supervise whole class activities safely and be able to use a range of strategies to deal with pupil behaviour.
  • Successful relevant experience of working with children.
  • Have good working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, equal opportunities and confidentiality.
  • Ability to use specialist equipment/materials and be able to demonstrate and assist others in their use.
  • Be able to devise and implement structured learning activities, under the direction of the teacher, and be able to evaluate their effectiveness and measure pupils’ progress, giving feedback as required.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults, understanding their needs and being able to respond accordingly.
  • Good influencing skills to encourage pupils to interact with others and be socially responsible

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check along with other pre-employment checks which must be undertaken before the role is confirmed by the school.
