Briary Primary School is looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Worker to join our friendly, established team. The role involves mentoring pupils on an individual or group basis and supporting them in addressing barriers to learning. We aim to raise aspirations and help children achieve their full potential, as well as offering them support in understanding and being aware of other’s emotions and feelings.

The role will also involve liaising closely with class teachers, senior leaders, external agencies and parents/carers. The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills and excellent communication, listening and observation skills with the ability to build rapport, engage and motivate others.

As a successful candidate, you will be involved in school life and all that comes with this, making you an extremely valuable part of the team. You will demonstrate resilience, patience, calmness and composure; be flexible and adaptable; be literate and numerate to GCSE standard and have relevant experience, preferably with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Hours are:- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 8.30am - 3.30pm and Wednesday - 8.20am - 3.30pm with half an hour lunch break.
