Information about the school

The Little Ark Pre-School opened in September 2009 and is situated on the premises of the John Wesley CEMP School and we work closely with the school. We are a registered charity and are funded independently and run by a committee of preschool and school staff.

We are registered for up to 28 children aged 2 1/2 to 4 years. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework this sets standards for the learning, development and care of children up to 5 years of age. Working with an online development journal called Tapestry, parents receive regular updates via email so that they can see the progress their child is making each step of the way.

Our aim is to create a happy, caring and inclusive environment in which children can explore, develop and nurture their self-esteem working alongside parents to prepare them for their transition to school.

The preschool committee is made up of the manager and administrator from The Little Ark Pre-School as well as the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, a member of staff from the school with Early Years Knowledge and ex-headteacher of school from The John Wesley CEM Primary School.

We are committed to the safeguarding of children and recognise that each child is an individual. We aim to provide an enabling and enriching environment for every child to reach their full potential.
