We are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer to support the needs of the school office from January 2023.  

Hours:   Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week, how this is broken down over the week will be discussed at interview.

The Attendance Officer is a core member of the school office. This role is essential as it ensures that all school attendance is accounted for, that absence is recorded accurately and referred appropriately where and when necessary.

You must have a good working knowledge of MS Office and you will also have the ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment.


We also feel that promoting our school on Social Media Platforms will show the community the fun and interesting things that happen at Tymberwood, encouraging families to send their children in and not miss out on their education.   Therefore running alongside the Attendance Officer Role you will be involved in marketing/promoting the school.

The successful candidate will

  • have had experience of working in a school office and have an understanding of School's Management Information System, or have a willingness to learn
  • be a fast learner
  • be confident with working with data
  • be efficient, well organised, flexible and an excellent team member
  • be educated to at least GCSE level, with GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • have excellent written and numeracy skills
  • have excellent communication skills being able to relate well to staff, parents, pupils and visitors.
  • have solid receptionist experience to include meeting all visitors, dealing with external and internal phone calls
  • have a good background of IT skills, including all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • have a good understanding of social media (Twitter & Facebook) in order to keep these up to date on a daily basis.
