We are looking to appoint a full-time outstanding Teacher of Geography who can inspire and excite students in their learning of Geography.  You will be joining a well-resourced department that is driven in our focus on raising achievement. Geography is a popular option at GCSE and the post offers outstanding opportunities for continuous personal and professional development for a highly motivated and ambitious teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for an NQT or experienced teacher.  The person appointed would be supported by the Head of Geography and the team of Geography specialist teachers.  We also work closely with the other Humanity subjects to support progress and learning across all key stages.

As well as our state-of-the-art facilities, and innovative teaching aids, we have an exciting programme of trips, visits, visitors and extra-curricular activities.  Cornwallis Academy value positive working relationships and seek individuals who will support this ethos. We are very excited about the future of Geography in our Academy and we are ready to invest in the right people to ensure its success. 

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • The ability to teach Geography up to KS4 and the potential for development of KS5 teaching
  • Knowledge of the Geography national curriculum and relevant pedagogy for the key stage 3 curriculum
  • Possess recent and relevant teaching experience
