Due to an expansion of our school roll an exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and talented Teacher of English to be based at our North Site.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, inspiring teacher of English who can make a real difference to the lives of our young people.

Our students are aged 11 – 19 years and all have an EHCP for Communication and Interaction needs, often related to Autism. With small class sizes and additional adult support in every class, we tailor our curriculum delivery to every student’s individual needs. Our students make good progress as a direct result of high-quality teaching coupled with an extensive range of therapies and interventions.

This role would be suitable for teachers at any stage of their career and we welcome applications from either Primary or Secondary, Special or Mainstream, or colleagues new to teaching- we just need you to be passionate about supporting young people- we will provide a programmes of specialist training and induction so that you quickly feel part of our team.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Is a qualified English teacher with experience of either Primary or Secondary teaching?
  • Enjoys working with and forging positive relationships with young people
  • Is a reflective practitioner – keen to learn and develop
  • Is solution focused but will always ask for support when needed
  • Wants to be part of a team that enhances the life chances of young people
  • Is committed to professional development.

Broomhill Bank School is a highly successful, mixed, special school for students with an EHCP relating to their Communication and Interaction difficulties. We are based on two sites; Broomhill Bank School (North) is in Hextable near Swanley and Broomhill Bank School (West) is in Rusthall near Tunbridge Wells. Both sites are attractive with lots of space for our students.

We are members of the collaborative group of Kent Special Schools KSENT, which consists of 24 special schools across Kent.
