We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational teaching assistant to join our school to support our classes. If you like the challenge of supporting children with their needs as well as being dedicated and passionate about learning and teaching, then this could be the position for you. 

The role will include working within a class, supporting individuals and small groups (both within and outside the classroom) to deliver our curriculum as well as interventions.

You will need to have a high level of English and Mathematical skills and experience of improving outcomes for pupils both academically and emotionally. We are looking for someone who has a vast amount of experience in working with children (especially those who have a high level of needs, this may include experience in a specialist setting). You will need to be adaptable and able to react quickly to any situation to support children in removing any barriers to their learning.

We are looking for people who are determined to secure the absolute best for our pupils and will work hard to ensure children achieve everything they are capable of. You will need to be able to work from Monday to Friday during the school daily hours (8.30am-3:15pm), but the position may require being in school a little time before or slightly after school hours to assist in sharing details with parents and carers. This is a full time post during term time.

Information about the school

Joydens Wood Junior School is located in a semi-rural setting on the outskirts of London. We are currently a stand alone academy but are in the process of joining the Nexus Education Schools Trust. We are a friendly and caring school with a team of enthusiastic, committed and hardworking staff.

We have approximately 300 pupils on roll in Years 3 to 6, with a 3 form entry in each year group.

We have classroom laptops and smart screens in all classes. The large playing field and our generous outside space allows our children to thrive with our various sports teams being successful in many local competitions. Combined with Forest School, arts opportunities, performances and school residential trips our school offers the chance for every child to unlock their potential.
