Our thriving Science Department is looking for an inspirational and forward-thinking teacher to develop and support our Key Stage 3 science curriculum.

The successful candidate will take a lead role within the Science department, be a facilitator of people and will develop strategies and initiatives that have longevity, relevance and meaning to throughout the whole school. The role will include overseeing the development, delivery, evaluation and improvement of the key stage three science curriculum, taking a lead role in monitoring and evaluating assessment data to plan targeted interventions and providing support across the department to develop teaching and learning in science. 

Working closely with the Principal Teacher – Science, you will attend departmental, staff and training sessions and ensure all aspects of the Departmental Development Plan are delivered.

Information about the school

Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre is a mixed 11 – 18 wide ability school with Academy status with 2000 students including 350 in the Sixth Form. We are part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust working in collaboration with local primary schools and nurseries serving the Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages. The school is situated on the edge of Tenterden and enjoys a large semi-rural site overlooking open countryside. Home Farm Nursery is based in the grounds of Homewood School.

Homewood has excellent facilities for all its students and our specialisms in Performing Arts, Applied Learning and the Rural Dimension underpin our approaches to learning which are designed to raise achievement across the whole student body.
