We are currently seeking a School Office Manager. This role will involve working closely with the Head of School to support the day to day management of the School office with the added responsibility for the line management of other staff. Applications from either a highly experienced School Office Manager or an aspiring School Office Manager who has held some responsibilities in a similar role are welcomed.

Candidates without school experience will still be considered, however it is essential to have some knowledge of how school office systems run and to be able to show evidence of how your current skills and training can be transferrable.

Skills and experience

  • Experience of working in a senior PA and/or administrative role including managing a busy, electronic diary.
  • Excellent office management skills, with demonstrable experience of managing a small team to include recruitment, induction, probation, appraisal and workload planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team with the drive to ensure that a high-quality service is provided, dealing with multiple tasks in parallel, and sharing knowledge appropriately.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience of using a variety of communication methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of a range of IT systems and programmes such as Microsoft word, excel, Publisher and website programmes.

 In addition to these skills, we are looking for somone who:

  • relates well to children, parents and outside agencies.
  • Is a good team member willing to share ideas and skills.
  • Has very good organisation skills and shows initiative.
  • Understands the need for all work to be confidential.
  • Is committed to the school, and is willing to contribute and support school events.

 The post is for 35hrs week Term Time Only including Inset Days (plus 1 week) Monday – Friday 8am-4pm

Salary- Kent Range 7
