To provide a warm, friendly and efficient first point of contact to visitors, parents and children.

To be aware of and comply with all policies and procedures relating to Child Protection including maintaining the Single Central record.

To provide administrative support to the headteacher in the smooth and efficient running of the school. To ensure all administrative procedures, including duties related to school personnel are correctly followed.

To maintain diaries, arrange meetings, activities and events.

To organise and maintain staffing records including absence procedure, maternity leave, contracts and terms of employment.

To ensure that all DBS, medical and qualification checks are up to date.

To operate and maintain pupil records and procedures including admissions and leavers.

To be responsible for the administration and completion of attendance registers.

To support the headteacher in preparing reports for Governors.

To work with the LA Bursar to ensure the proper operation of financial procedures and systems.

To be aware of and comply with all policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety, security, confidentiality and data protection.

To help care for children who are unwell, acting as a qualified First Aider and to administer medicines in line with School Policy.

 

Skills

Good spoken and written communication skills

Confident telephone manner

Excellent administrative skills

Good computer skills including Microsoft Office. Experience of SIMS is beneficial but not essential.

Confidence in handling cash and working with figures

Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks

First Aid Qualifications or the willingness to undertake them
