Ightham Primary School is seeking to appoint two part time Teaching Assistants to each work with a child in upper Key Stage 2. One role is for fourteen hours per week and the other is for twelve hours per week. These will ideally be worked across mornings but this is negotiable. Please make it clear in your application what days/hours you are able to work. The School would also be prepared to appoint one person to do both roles i.e. 26 hours per week in total; again, please make this clear in your application.

Your primary role will be to support a child with High Needs Funding due to SEND. There are no behavioural issues and the child needs support to access the curriculum.

Both posts will be until 31st August 2023. There is the possibility of renewal of contract dependent on successful application by the school of further High Needs Funding. The post is linked to the child attending Ightham Primary School.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Flexibility and commitment in their work with children.
  • Experience (either voluntary or paid) of working in a primary school.
  • A good knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • An understanding of SEND.
  • Experience of working with pupils 1:1 and small groups.
